Nature

Nature

The first painting is of myself sitting on a tree trunk, setting the mood with neutral and cool tones to immerse oneself with nature.

Woman in the Black Veil

Woman in the Black Veil

I used netting for the veil extension to have a 3 Dimensional appeal. I also wanted the look to be very mysterious, thus I isolated the portrait of the woman’s face with black and dark grey on the frame.

Dan Tat

Dan Tat

One of my favorite Hong Kong desserts is 蛋挞 {Dan tat) also known as Egg Tart. I take photos of them after every baking session, so I attempted to make a semi-realistic portrait of it, and surely enough, it looks delicious enough to make one hungry.

Odd Breakfast

Odd Breakfast

I had a bunch of erasers laying around and I had an odd concept of applying stationary tools as placement of a breakfast scene. White erasers would be a place hold as butter as the box cutter acts as any ordinary knife. Post-it notes become napkins and darker colored erasers lay out as pieces of toast.

Smiling Grandmother

Smiling Grandmother

This piece is a portrait of my Grandmother happily smiling into the camera, a picture taken from my father as a form of documentation of the best moments in life.

Pastel

Pastel

This is another portrait study using a variety of soft pastel colors, feeling rich in saturation and warm tones.

Fred

Fred

A pig wearing a robber-like appearance with a stash of money next to it. This was made for my music teacher since she had an obsession with pigs (B/c they were cute) and there’s a motto used to remember the music scales, “Fred Can Get Dollars At Every Bank.” This portrait presently hangs in the music room in my high school.

Jackie Chan

Jackie Chan

Acrylic painting of Jackie Chan’s inspired after watching Drunken Master.
